Modern Authentication updated to Microsoft MSAL
The eDOCS Modern Authentication has been updated to use the Microsoft Authentication Library
(MSAL) to acquire security tokens from the Microsoft identity platform to authenticate users and
access secured web APIs.

For Azure Entra authentication
Login to Microsoft Azure
Select Manage and your App registrations
Select your Azure Entra configuration for eDOCS
Select Authentication
Add the URI to your InfoCenter Web server

The DM Extensions and InfoCenter clients have been updated to allow a user to set personal profile defaults for their configured Profile search forms.

In InfoCenter when the user goes to set their Preferences and selects the Profile defaults tab, and
they select the Search node they will be presented with one or more search forms. When they hover
over the search form name they will now see a pencil icon that they can select to edit and set defaults
for the search form.
The Edit action is now available when hovering over a search form:

When they subsequently perform a search in InfoCenter the form will be pre-filled with the Default values they set.

 

 

 

In the DM Extension when the user goes to set their Profile defaults and they select the Search node
they will be presented with one or more search forms. They can now select a search and then select
the Defaults option; they will be able to enter defaults on the search form that will be filled in with the
values each time they select the Search action in the DM Extension or InfoCenter clients.
The Defaults action is now available when selecting a search form.

When selecting a form and Defaults they will be able to set defaults for the form.

 

 

When they subsequently perform a search in the DM Extensions the form will be pre-filled with the Default values they set.

The previously known issue and requirement to disable the AutoSave feature in the Microsoft Office applications when opening documents saved in OneDrive is no longer required.

When a user opens a document from OneDrive and use the InfoCenter Office client save feature to profile the document in eDOCS, a new document will be created in the
Users\AppData\Roaming\OpenText\DM\ICTemp directory and the original file that was opened from
OneDrive will be released.

The new file that is created will use the eDOCS naming convention of Library-Doc#-V#-Docname.filetype. 

This new feature is implemented in the InfoCenter web interface where the user will now see a “Save
to eDOCS” option in the menu bar. In previous releases the “Save to eDOCS option was only
available when the user selected documents.
When selecting Microsoft OneDrive from the hamburger menu and browsing the structure or opening
a Tile that is linked to a OneDrive location, when selecting a Folder they will see the new Save to
eDOCS action.

 

This feature requires the user to have the “Can Create Folders” permission for their primary group, if they do not have that permission, they will not see the “Upload folders” action.
The user will be informed that they are importing the folder to eDOCS and will be prompted to complete the folder profile form.

 

The user will be informed of the progress of the import during the bulk process.

 

 

 

Note: If the user preference is set to remove files from OneDrive it will remove the folders and documents after they are saved to eDOCS.

The InfoCenter interface has been updated to include a new Quick Access action when hovering over
a document name on the Home screen or from within a Tile. They will see a Document icon that will
bring them directly to the Viewer and display the document.
